From May 2 to 4 of this year, the International Carpet Festival was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The festival’s main goal was to showcase carpet weaving on a global scale, further develop it, and use the experiences and skills of carpet weavers from around the world.
The festival opened on May 2 with the International Carpet Forum, which brought together leading carpet industry specialists, carpet weavers, artisans, designers, manufacturers, and researchers.
The festival, which took place May 3–4, featured carpet exhibitions, master classes, interactive theatrical performances, and musical events. Representatives from various countries demonstrated their carpet weaving traditions.
Khadicha Rakhimberdiyeva, a “Hunarmand” Association member from Boysun, participated in the International Carpet Festival.
It should be noted that the public highly appreciated Khadicha Rakhimberdiyeva’s carpets, which were made from raw materials provided by the “Hunarmand” Association.
Khadicha Rakhimberdiyeva is a skilled craft master who creates carpets, “janda” s, and “olacha” s from wool, silk, and cotton threads. She also crafts various types of prayer rugs, “chapan” national garments, and Boysun “tuldirma”, “lolagul”, and beaded “duppi” s.
She is particularly renowned for reviving 42 types of ancient patterns from Surkhandarya carpets, using natural dyes extracted from nature in the weaving and preparation of her products. This has resulted in great interest in both the domestic and international markets.
Khadicha Rakhimberdiyeva, who participated in the International Carpet Festival in Baku, Azerbaijan, expressed great satisfaction. Not only did she have the opportunity to showcase her products, but she was also able to exchange experiences and learn from the work of industry experts.
